The 2008 ski season is nearly over, but if you want to squeeze in one more trip- done in style- consider the new Arrabelle hotel in Vail. Personally, planning things month in advance has never been one of my strong points but here’s a good reason to mark your calendars for April. The 18th annual Taste of Vail is happening April 2- 5, 2008 and will feature 35 guest chefs, cooking seminars, and vineyard owners and sommeliers from over 50 wineries. All proceeds go to a variety of Vail Valley charities. A few of the highlights include an Apres Ski Tasting of various wines, a Lamb Cook-Off and a Mountain Top Picnic, taking place 10,350 feet above sea level to the scenic Eagle’s Nest on Vail Mountain. An igloo martini bar will be created, and there will also be a chef showcase dinner at The Ritz Carlton Bachelor’s Gulch.
