Missoni_hotel.jpgWatch out, plaid. Although tartan is the textile most closely associated with Scotland, it could soon be replaced by stripes. Missoni, the luxury Italian clothing company known for its bold stripes and patterned knitwear, will open its first hotel in Edinburgh this May in association with the Rezidor Hotel Group. Located on George IV Street along the Royal Mile, the Hotel Missoni will feature 136 bedrooms and 7 suites, as well as the brand’s signature Cucina Missoni restaurant, Bar Missoni, a fitness suite and several meeting spaces.

twist, head to Ness. This little shop specializes in contemporary
knitwear. The best bets are boiled wool bags...
