It's easy to make believe you own a particularly attractive and well-positioned Nice apartment when you stay at the Palais de la Mediterranee. Each of the 188 rooms has outdoor space perfect for an evening aperitif or breakfast, ranging from somewhat modest balconies to the immense terraces that come in one of the 12 suites (the largest, Suite 927, has a 538-square-foot terrace).  Either way, just opening the doors to your own private glimpse of the Baie des Anges (book one of the 92 rooms with a sea view) provides a sense of the bien-être for which Provence ”“ though not necessarily the small but bustling city of Nice ”“ is so well known.

When it comes to planning a stay in Nice, there's usually one hotel on people's minds: the glamorous Art Deco Palais de la Mediterranee. The hotel has just unveiled its newest and largest suite, Suite 927, also known as “Sous le Cieux les Plus Doux” meaning “Under the Softest Heavens.” The name comes from the tryptique painting which graces the living room.  Suite 927 is a spacious 1,292 square feet, with a 538-square-foot terrace. The one-bedroom suite features a living room with sofas able to accommodate up to 14 people and a bathroom, with panoramic views of Nice and the Baie des Anges. The suite also has two plasma screen televisions, large wardrobes, and Annick Goutal body products. Rates range from €1400 to €2000 per night.
