Taking the Crew Experience

Things have been rather mad since our return and one item on the to-do list that had repeatedly been put off was a haircut. Enough was enough so it was time to try out the new Crew Experience Male Grooming Spa in Fulham. Billing itself as a Barber Shop and Grooming Spa, Crew Experience offers traditional hair cutting services as well as a Hammam spa and massage. Unfortunately “Gommage et Nettoyage de Peau" never made it to my to-do list so I only had time for the haircut.

The interior of Crew Experience is particularly male friendly- polished wood and chrome with fantastic traditional barber chairs and not a dog-eared copy of Cosmo in sight. Good start. I was ushered to the hair washing area and sat down in the chair, and my barber offered me a beer. Even better. Electric motors kicked into gear as the chair tilted back towards the basin. As my barber did the usual too hot-too cold routine with the shower, a low hertz pulse started vibrating in my upper back. Yup, a massage chair. A nice touch but why has nobody invented temperature controls for salon showers yet?

Hair washed, head massaged and menthol applied I was ready for the cut. And not too bad it was either. One of the best I've had in a while and all at a price where I won't be ridiculed by mates for spending too much money on my barnet. Take the Crew Experience has already made it back onto my to-do list.
