There are many occasions when a celebrity wants their dress to be absolutely perfect, like the Oscars, the Emmys and at a movie premiere. But when it comes to choosing a wedding dress, this is the dress that eclipses any other. Most celebrities are lucky enough to have designers clamouring to make their wedding dresses (even if it is something they normally don’t do). Giorgio Armani designed Katie Holmes’s wedding dress, and Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière famously whipped up Nicole Kidman’s frothy one-shoulder dress when she married Keith Urban. Gisele got John Galliano to design her gown when she wed Tom Brady.
But if you can't go customs, there are plenty of designers whose bridal dresses are available off the rack (like Monique Lhuillier, whose design is pictured above). Here is a look at where celebrities have bought their wedding gowns. And if your budget isn’t as big as a celeb's, check out websites such as Bridepower.com – this Boston based store has plenty of sample designer dresses at a fraction of retail cost- or preownedweddingdresses.com.
Marchesa – This is one of the hottest bridal labels to watch. The duo behind the Marchesa label, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, are known for elegant, glamorous, red carpet ready dresses. They were inspired to launch a bridal collection after Chapman designed her own dress to marry Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein. The duo have designed gorgeous wedding dresses for Beth Ostrosky when she married Howard Stern, as well as Colleen Rooney (wife of English footballer Wayne Rooney). Kate Hudson was recently spotted in a Marchesa bridal gown - but it was only for a photo shoot.

Vera Wang – For many people, Vera Wang is the automatic choice for a stellar bridal gown. She has dominated the market for years, and changed the way people thought about bridal gowns. Her signature look is subdued and elegant, and nothing is over the top. Basically, you can’t go wrong if you pick a Vera Wang gown. Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez, Ali Larter, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Simpson, Khloe Kardashian, Avril Lavigne and Elin Nordegren (Tiger Wood’s wife) have all worn her dresses – even Barbie wore Vera Wang when she walked down the aisle.
Carolina Herrera – Another gorgeous go-to wedding designer for
brides looking for a classic-with-a-twist dress. A few seasons ago,
Herrera designed a pale pink strapless wedding dress with pockets for a
fun feel, but most of her dresses are classic with some simple
detailing. Renee Zellweger, who rarely wears anything but Carolina
Herrera, wore a custom dress by the designer for her short lived
nuptials to singer Kenny Chesney. Mad Men star Christina Hendricks also
chose CH, along with Former 'Bachelorette' Jen Schefft and Jackie
Titone (Adam Sandler’s wife).

Host Giuliana DePandi Rancic all walked down the aisle in a Lhuillier design. She also now designs an elegant, stylish range of bridesmaid dresses and evening wear.
Angel Sanchez – Venezuelan-born Angel Sanchez is known for
his body-hugging, figure-flattering dresses. In 2004 he dressed Sandra

around $3,000.www.angelsanchezusa.com
